There is not much variation in the base of a set of Mickey ears. Some rest on a headband, and some rest on a round cap. Some of the basic ones have similarly constructed pieces, such as a bow, and some have custom parts, such as a veil on a set of bridal Mickey $($Minnie$)$ ears.

How might the manufacturer determine how many of each part they need to meet the demand for all of the variations?
