2 Replies, 2 Unread : ALA Mod3 - Demonstration: Is seeing believing? - Discussion Group 1 DUE: 2/11 Sunday, 11:59 pm For this Active Learning Activity (ALA), you will need access to the internet. You have learned a lot about visual perception. I have provided a lot of different images that demonstrate some of the ways that our smart minds can actually end up getting fooled. Now it's your turn to teach someone else about how their own minds are getting fooled. Follow these 4 steps: 1. Make sure you've carefully read your reading assignment and walked through all of the Order of Activities activities. 2. Go out to the internet to find some image or video or show that demonstrates some phenomenon where we experience a visual image incorrectly. We mis-perceive. 3. Show that image to someone else (e.g. friend, significant other, mom, dad, child) and "teach" them what is happening, based upon what you've learned in this Module. 4. Then come back here and post: the image (just save it to your hard-drive, then upload it to this site) (be sure to copy and paste your link somewhere; you can just put it in your text) 0 a summary of how you taught it to your "pupil," making sure to apply AND CITE (Reisberg, page number) some specific content from your text. [~100 words] a reflection on the experience from you and/or your "pupil" [50 words or less] While I won't grade you for "discussing" with your groupmates, it will be interesting for you all to check out what gets posted, so I highly recommend posting in response to one another. This is a great way to learn.
