Overview - The Individual Assignment will look at SIN Changi airport

Singapore Changi Airport is one of the world's busiest and most awarded airports. Not withstanding

one-off past "shocks" - such as the effects of 9/11, SARS, the Global Financial crisis and now covid-

19 - the airport has continually delivered growth - operationally and commercially. In 2019, it

achieved its highest ever passenger numbers - exceeding 68million passenger movements.

Throughout its existence, the airport has adapted well to the changing nature of its airline customers,

given how many low cost airlines now constitute the overall share of airlines serving Singapore.

Operationally, it has continued to invest in its infrastructure, which has enabled the huge growth in

aircraft movements and passenger numbers. Commercially, it has also shifted the paradigm, as non-

aeronautical revenues and activities continue to increase and become an important and ever bigger

part of the airport's strategic direction.

This has allowed Changi (and therefore Singapore), to not only remain relevant as an airport (in the

face of growing competition from Middle East hub airports, as well as other APAC airports such as

Hong Kong and those in China), but also as a successful business which is continually able to

innovate and set the benchmark for other airports across many parameters.

Task -

financial metrics to assess and analyse the performance of Singapore Changi Airport over the

past 10 years. (Use 2019 as the last year of data, so your analysis would cover 2009 to
