Question: ( 3 0 pts ) The truss structure in the figure below has 4 loads applied to it . a . Draw a free body

(30 pts) The truss structure in the figure below has 4 loads applied to it.
a. Draw a free body diagram of the bridge. Draw and label all known
forces, unknown forces, and coordinate system.
b. Solve for the reactions at A & G.
c. Using Method of Joints and starting at joint A, solve for the forces in
members AB and AG. Specify whether they are in tension or
compression.
d. Continuing with Method of Joints, examine joint G and solve for the
forces in members GB and GF. Specify whether they are in tension or
compression.
e. Now assume you have not solved for AB,GB and GF yet. Section the
bridge through members AB, GB and GF and draw a free body
diagram of the top section labeling all forces and coordinate system.
f. Summing moments about G, solve for AB, and specify whether it is in
tension or compression.
g. Summing moments about B, solve for GF, and specify whether it is in
tension or compression.
h. Knowing AB and GF, solve for GB, and specify whether it is in tension
or compression.
