3: Creating a Preliminary Network Diagram

Create a general network diagram of the design ideas you have to this point, showing the design principles for connecting cabled computers, printers, and plotters, on each floor of the building. Include in your diagram how you would isolate the servers on the network.

The DUPAS Corporation is a new state of the industrial building used by Auto Graphics design personnel for studying rendering Graphics products. The building is to be equipped with both cable and wireless network access on all floors. Several work areas of the building have stationary desktop computers printers, and plotters that will be connected by cable. The top two floors will each have 25 desktops, two laser printers, and a plotter. The lower floor will have about 20 desktops each. Also, many of the building's designers will use laptop computers, moving them to several different work locations on the building. Both Windows 7 and Linux workstations will be used. The building will have five servers for research and administrative use that will be housed in a server room on the top floor.
