3. Well one big thing that really stood out to me is how much power big corporations have over the global food system. I knew somewhat that food came from all over the world, but I didn't realize just how much huge companies control prices, what gets grown, and even what we end up buying. They decide things like whether farmers get paid fairly or how food is transported, and most of the time, their decisions are based on making the most money not what's best for the people or the planet. Because of this, food production is hurting the environment in major ways we're talking about deforestation, water shortages, and the loss of important plants and animals. The way food is grown and shipped around the world leads to serious damage, but most of us don't think about it because we don't see it happening. But the good news is that Even though we can't fix everything overnight, people do have the power to make a difference. Buying fair trade products, learning more about where food comes from, and questioning what companies tell us about food can all help push for better practices.
