Specific instructions are outlined in the description below. The student will identify an organization that they have worked in, have working knowledge of (i.e. a family business) or an organization that is easily researched on the internet. The student must identify and discuss two Human Resource issues in theorganizationand analyze what is done well and not done well with respect to areas theyhave identified. They will then develop and describe recommendations that would enhance/improve and/or change the situation in the identified areas.The paper should use many of the concepts discussed in the textbook and the lessons relative to the HR related areaschosen. There are threemain sections in the paper. The sections are related, and the paper must flow logically through each one. 1.The paper should briefly outline the organization including the numberof employees. Describe what industry the organization is in;what type of business it is. Please indicate the number of employees, number of divisions or locations within the organizationand whether it is a unionized or non-unionized environment.(Students may create a fictitious name for the organization if they wish).2.The next section should describe the twoHR related issues in the organization that they have identified. First, describe what is done wellin the organization in regards to these two areas (some of the positive aspects or positive outcomes). Then describe what is not done wellin the organization in regards to these two areas (some of the negative aspects), why and how they are not done welland what the impact on the employees, customers and the organization has been because of this. 3.In the third section, the student will discuss and explain their recommendations that would enhance/improve and/or change the situation in the identified HR areas.The student must be as specific as possible as to what theirsuggestions are and how they would implementthem. Also,they should briefly discuss how these improvements would impact the organization. It is best if the two chosen areas logically flow or work together (e.g. recruitment and selection, training and development, etc.) but it is not required. Students should actively incorporate course theory and concepts and ideas from the text into their paper whenever appropriate.
