Instructions: Think about a time when you decided on something that had at least two alternative solutions.
Read about the following concepts in Chapter 6 and your answers to the above surveys. Use that information to answer the following questions on these pages. State the decision you made and the alternative solution that you did not select.
Briefly explain if your decision was programmed or non-programmed. (p. 230+; LO 6.1a)
Briefly explain how your decision involved certainty, risk, or uncertainty. (p. 231+; LO 6.1b)
Briefly explain 2-3 reasons why/how or if you experienced bounded rationality or satisficing.
Refer to the decision style(s)/approach(es) (i.e., linear, non-linear, quasi-rational) that you identified in #2 survey (p. 3 of this packet). Explain 1-2 detailed way(s) your decision style(s)/approach(es) influenced how you made the decision you mention above in 4a and/or influenced the outcome of the decision.
Briefly explain a bad (or failed) decision when you engaged in a decision bias such as being influenced by initial impressions &/or emotions, justifying past decisions, perpetuating status quo, being overconfident, etc. (p. 248+; LO 6.5). Briefly explain how you addressed or avoided the bad behavior.
Refer to your decision noted in 4a or 4f. Explain 2-3 different ways 1-2 main personal decision style(s) that you noted in Survey #3 (page 4 of this packet; analytical, behavioral, conceptual, directive) negatively influenced &/or helped you improve the outcome of the decision.
