The Poisson distribution is a discrete probability function that has wide business applications. It is used most often to predict demand for a product or service. On the SpaTreatments worksheet, in cell D2, use the POISSON.DIST function to predict the number of orders that will be placed in the next week. For the X argument use the values in column E and for the mean use cell B25. Fill the formula down to cell D22. In cell G3 use the RAND function to create a random probability. Copy the function down to G9. In cell H3 use the VLOOKUP function to retrieve the number of orders from the data in D2:E22, using G3 as the lookup value. Copy the function down to H9.
