6. Sam is researching the growth of the Kudzu plant and needs your assistance. Sam's wife loves greenery so he bought her a Kudzu plant 3 days ago as he knew these would spread around the back yard with ease. However, he was unaware of just how fast his plant would grow until now. His plant, which was 0.4 inches as a seedling, is growing at a continuous exponential rate instead of the constant rate of 12 inches per day. Help him answer the questions below so that he can save his yard, house, and his marriage. The Kudzu plant grows rapidly, approximately 12 inches per day and as much as 60 feet per season. The maximum length the vine can reach is approximately 98 feet. Unfortunately, my plant seems to be growing at alarming continuous exponential rate of 52% each day. Question A. Can I use a model to assist me in predicting the length of my vine, in feet, on different days? If so, create a model while explaining each step in the process and label each variable in context to his situation. Question B. What is the length of the vine in 5 days? Explain your process so that he can replicate this to find the length of his vine in one year (365 days). Question C. My in-laws are building a house next door. The house is expected to be move-in ready in 17 days. Will the vine reach their property by that time, assuming the vine started growing at the corner of my house and my house is 1000 feet away from theirs? Explain why or why not. 6.
