And so he walked out through the front door to let off some steam and to give me some space. | didn't really intend to make him wait all day, so | got everything together as quickly as | could and met Frederique out on the steps of our cabin. By the end of that hour, he was relaxed, no longer in a hurry, and was glad to see that | grabbed some essential items he had forgotten about. | apologized for making him wait, and then he replied to my apology with incredible sincerity. After a brief moment of silence, Frederique pointed into the distance toward the colorful, wide sky that brightened the prairie in front of us as he explained why the trip was not going to change him after all, at least not as much as the scene that lay before us at that moment. | nodded my head in agreement and patted Frederique on the back, appreciating his insight and newly developed sense of purpose.
