Question: A 4 - pole, 5 0 Hz , single - phase induction motor has an effective resistance and leakage reactance of 0 . 4 ohm

A 4-pole, 50 Hz , single-phase induction motor has an effective resistance and leakage reactance of 0.4 ohm and 4 ohm respectively. If the motor is running at 1200r.p.m. Determine the frequencies of rotor current components and relative magnitudes of the forward and backward fluxes and torques. Neglect magnetising current and stator impedance. If the above motor is used as an a.c. tachometer with an auxiliary winding of effective turns 4 times that of the main winding, determine the voltage induced in the auxiliary when the shaft speed is 1200 r.p.m., the voltage across the main winding being 22 V .
