A company is developing an engine to generate a power of 55kW at a speed of 6500rpm. The maximum allowable temperature of the cycle is in the range 2100K to 2350K, due to the strength requirements of the available material. Ambient conditions are 325K & 100kPa. Allowable compression ratio must lie in the range 18 to 22. Select any suitable value for the compression ratio & maximum cycle temperature and estimate cut-off ratio of this engine, using Air standard Diesel cycle. Estimate the volume of the engine required to develop 50kW @ 6500rpm. Also calculate efficiency and mean effective pressure at this point of operation.
