A construction company is having problems with the quality and quantity of the work. This is costing the company substantially. The work crews seem to work hard when the supervisor is around, but put in much less effort when not being supervised. The supervisor must visit several work sites and meet with suppliers, thus he cant provide close supervision. Some of the more experienced workers complain that some of the newer employees dont know what they are doing. The members of the work teams seem to get along pretty well and seem to like their jobs. They are willing to help other workers when needed. The work crews sometimes complain about slow delivery of materials that interferes with work. The supervisor has tried to correct this problem, but cant get the supplier to be more punctual. The companys corporate headquarters selects the suppliers.
