A contractor is working on a 6 storey large suburban concrete apartment block which is spread out over several hectares. The concrete pours for the structural elements (including columns, beams and slabs) are done by concrete pumps (Figure 7.1) however in some hard to reach areas the pours for structural elements may need to be done by bucket using one of the tower cranes (Figure 7.2). Explain from technical and productivity perspectives how the contractor may make a choice of pump or bucket for these hard to reach areas.
