Then, create an excel spreadsheet for one month of actual current recorded expenditures. Please include the date, amount of spending, category for each item you spend on for one month. You can pick the month for which you will keep track of your current expenses. Then, please sum them by the above listed categories and report your results. I will provide a spreadsheet for both the budgeted categories and the monthly expenditure tracking for you but you can also create your own if you wish. The excel spreadsheets will be submitted to me$.$ In the spreadsheet there are three tabs$-$ budget, recorded expenditures, and a pivot table. The pivot table allows us to sum by category. Once you have completed the budget and recorded expenses in excel, reflect on how you are spending your money. Please submit this information in a word document.

How does the budget you have for yourself reconcile with your actual expenditures?

Are there any categories that you feel you can spend more in or should spend less in$?$

Look at all your variable expenses first and see if you can save some money. Keep in mind that you have more control over your variable expenses than your fixed expenses. Fixed expenses$-$ are expenses that don$$t generally change from month to month, like rent, most utilities and car payments. Variable expenses$-$ are expenses that can easily change, like the amount spent on food, entertainment or clothing. What are your total fixed expenses?
