Question: A field experiment was conducted to test whether inter- specific competitive effects between an exotic tree species (Australian Pine) and a native tropical tree species

A field experiment was conducted to test whether inter- specific competitive effects between an exotic tree species (Australian Pine) and a native tropical tree species (Gumbo-Limbo) are effected by elevation. So, an inter-specific competition treatment (labeled "Inter" in data) consisting of an exotic tree planted next to a native tree was established at each of 5 randomly chosen locations at each of three elevations (0m, 300m, 500m); 15 separate locations in all. At each of the 15 locations, two native trees were also planted next to each other to serve as a control for intra-specific competitive effects (labeled "Ctrl" in data). Later, the mean number of fruits per native tree was determined to estimate the effect of competition and elevation on reproductive success of the trees A field experiment was conducted to test whether inter- specific competitive effects between an exotic tree species (Australian Pine) and a native tropical tree species (Gumbo-Limbo) are effected by elevation. So, an inter-specific competition treatment (labeled "Inter" in data) consisting of an exotic tree planted next to a native tree was established at each of 5 randomly chosen locations at each of three elevations (Um, 300m
