A linear regression was conducted to predict if taking BP medications affected diastolic blood pressure. Taking BP medications was found to be a statistically significant predictor of diastolic blood pressure, F(1,2716)=116.267, p<.001, with an R2 of .041. Thus 4.1% of variation in blood pressure can be explained by taking or not taking medication which demonstrates that other factors influence DBP. DBP was 7.667 units higher in those patients taking BP medication. The regression equation was: Y(DBP)=69.080+ 7.667X (BPmedication)-taking BP meds is coded yes=1; no=2; is the interpretation correct
