A:The various phases of the SLDC are all considered critical to success. Much research has been done on project failure and the root cause of failure has been found to be highly case specific (Lehtinen et al.2014). However, first among equals is the Requirements phase. No matter how well everything else is handled, if the project requirements are not well defined, the project is doomed. In fact, Agile development rose out of the requirements phase because often, even the project customer does not understand their own requirements.
