Question:
A person is lifting a 15kg dumbbell. Using the information provided, answer the following questions.
GIVEN INFORMATION
Forearm angle: -35 deg to right horizontal
Forearm: 3.25kg at -55 deg to forearm
Dumbbell: 15kg at -55 deg to forearm
Biceps force: 200N at 115 deg to forearm
Triceps force: 50N at 190 deg to forearm
Answer all questions relative to the FOREARM coordinate system. Assume a right+/ up+.
A. What are the net vertical and horizontal accelerations of the system
(forearm+dumbbell) in this situation?
For the net vetical force, do you add the triceps vertical force to the biceps vertical force and negative dumbell and forearm downward forces or do you subtract the triceps vertical force after adding the other 3 forces because the triceps co-contraction decreases the horizontal force? Please show all work and why and don't copy what others have posted already because may be incorrect. Thanks.
4. A player (85.83 kg) performs two countermovement jumps, one with a short range of motion and one with a large range of motion. Answer the following questions.
A. During the short range of motion jump, the player generated an average ground reaction force of 1395.7N for 0.320 seconds.
What is the player's take off velocity?
Don't forget to subtract out body weight somehow as instructed by professor in person.
