Question: A pipe network consists of 2 loops ( pipes AB , BC and CA ) and loop 2 ( pipes CD and DA ) .

A pipe network consists of 2 loops (pipes AB, BC and CA) and loop 2(pipes CD and DA). The pipes are: AB is 30 cm. in diameter and 300 m. long; BC is 25 cm. in diameter and 450 m. long; CA is 40 cm. in diameter and 600 m. long; CD is 35 cm in diameter and 250 m. long; and DA is 30 cm. in diameter and 500 m. long. An inflow at junction A is equal to 65m3/min. while, outflows are: at junction B,60% of the inflow at A, and at junction C,40% of the inflow at A. Friction factor for all pipes is 0.02. and neglect minor losses. Determine the flow in each pipe using Hardy Cross method. Two trials only with the final Q = Q3.
