A planner has been asked to create a level workforce and a chasing demand strategy for a 4-month period.

This problem asks you to complete the chasing demand plan. The previous problem asked you to complete the level workforce plan. All workforce policies are given in the table below; each plan gives information on which policies are allowed.

Workforce policies:

Regular output per employee 100 units
Overtime production 800 max units
Regular production cost $20 per unit
Overtime production cost $30 per unit
Holding cost $2 per unit in avg inventory
Beginning inventory 0 units
Hiring cost $500 per new employee (one-time cost in the month hired)
Layoff cost $1000 per laid-off employee (one-time cost in the month let go)

The plan runs from May through August. At the end of April, the company has 55 employees in the production area.

Assume in the chasing demand plan we will hire or layoff workers in order to match forecast to regular production. We will not use inventory, overtime, or backlog. Assume that all employees produce the maximum regular output per month. An employee hired at the beginning of a month is able to produce that month. An employee laid off at the beginning of a month does not produce that month.

Complete the plan below. Some information has been filled in the table already. Be sure to enter a value in any cell with an answer blank. Enter a zero (0) where necessary, and indicate negative amounts with a minus sign (example: -200). Enter values without a comma or symbols (example: enter 1000 instead of 1,000 or $1000).
