A randomized trial was conducted to examine whether surgery can influence the time to recurrence of brain metastasis for patients undergoing treatment for a single brain metastasis. Subjects were randomly assigned to receive surgery or not in addition to standard radiotherapy. The times to recurrence for the two groups are in the table below.
