Hello everyone! My name is Tyler Brown, and I am 29 years old and currently living here in Texas. I graduated from Harker Heights High log School in 2013 and from Central Texas College in the spring of 2024. At the moment, my major is criminal justice. While I'm still unsure exactly which area of criminal justice I want to pursue, I know that this is a career that interests me very much, as I enjoy such things as court proceedings/trials (especially movies involving them). What I hope to get ec out of this course is to learn more essential skills and knowledge needed tio that will benefit me moving forward in this type of field. This textbook asks, "WHY STUDY GENDER?" and then answers that question by stating that gender simply and generally matters. It elaborates on what gender is and ultimately how it operates in our lives, I find the study of genders interesting because it not only helps us understand how society, culture, and biology intersect to shape human experience, but it also helps us decide what needs to be changed and what specific steps should be taken to achieve that change.
