A report from a national polling institute claims that 63% of US adult citizens favor more restrictive gun control laws. To determine if the citizens in the northeast region of the US differed significantly in some way from this national claim, a random sample of 150 adults from the US northeast was collect. In this sample group, 106 stated a preference for more restrictive gun control laws. Follow the steps below to conduct a hypothesis test to determine, at the 2.5% significance level, if the proportion of adults in the northeast region of the US in favor of more restrictive gun control laws was different from the 63% claim.
