A research was studying whether experience in a statistics class influenced the sense of self efficacy in interpreting output of students across time (pretest, posttest and follow-up three weeks after the course ended), and whether the effect was different for males and females. The researcher has conducted a repeated measures ANOVA to test the null hypothesis that there is not an interaction between time and gender in terms of self-efficacy. The researcher uses a Type I error rate of .05 and reports "a statistically significant " interaction. Interpret that result in terms of random sampling fluctuation.
