A resource$-$constrained project is one that assumes that the level of resources available cannot be exceeded. We learn that the Impala Platinum case study project had resource constraints. Refer to the following Impacts of Resource$-$constrained Scheduling, and contextualise the theory to the case study project$-$showing how the case study project could have benefited if this theory was adopted, and provide an analogy between the Impala Platinum case study and the Department of agriculture project of providing new agricultural infrastructure for the local farmers in the community:

$2.$ Reduces flexibility by using slack to ensure delay is minimized

$3.$ Increases the number of critical and near critical activities

$4.$ Scheduling complexity increases due to resource constraints being added to

$5.$ Technical constraints.

$6.$ Start times may now have two constraints

$7.$ The traditional critical path concept of sequential activities is no longer valid as the resource constraints can break the sequence and leave the network with a set of disjointed critical activities.
