A response to my peer who stated that she has been working in a hospital setting for the last twenty years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She has six years experience as a lead coordinator. She hope to learn how to learn ways to improve work culture, focusing on efficiency.
Have you ever developed or helped develop a creative or innovative idea for a company, team, or yourself? For example, you may have conceptualized a new product, app, or game. If so how did it go What did you learn from that experience?
My peer stated that CICARE connect introduce, communicate, ask, respond, exit was adopted into a model in a hospital that she was employed at During the early stages she was a part of the team of developers to bring the model into adoption for employees and patients. This opened up the pathway to follow a communication with care of what the healthcare professional was doing and why. This also gave an opportunity for the patient to communicate with the provider any concerns or questions. This made the healthcare providers able to be more engaged no matter how busy they were. This process started out slow with training starting in the smaller facilities. Positive results were seen by Press Gainey scores via patient evaluation of staff. She learned that following a path with every patient will result in a positive outcome.

My peer stated that the hospital that she is employed at uses technology to connect directly with patients and families. Updating information as the patient is seen. This gives the patient and the patient family to ask any questions about tests and reports they may have seen about their loved one or themselves as the results are in Also, the hospital participates in telehealth visits for individuals who would like to be seen that cannot get to an appointment. Technology is always changing so cost for the hospital is always a consideration to keep up to date. The training for the employees is also constant to manage the change in technology.
