A simple response to discussion post below:

Based on my prior and current knowledge, I support a country that adopts a capitalist economic system because, allows a free market and it allows citizens property rights to be able have individual ownership of their land, possessions, etc. In our lessons so far in this course, the consequences of individuals working for a community rather than solely for themselves have been shown to be negative. When it comes to effort towards working to improve the quality if living for everyone. However, when people are instead working for their own benefit, they are more likely to put in more effort to improve their quality of life and are more motivated to put in effort in the service they provide as well. In addition, in a capitalist economic system it is easier for individuals to create their own private businesses without as much regulation by the government and for the most part the amount of effort they put into building the business, the more they will get out of it. In this way effort is more closely related to individual success rather than having an individual's effort get contributing to others who may have not put in as much effort.
