A simple short response to the discussion post below:

In The Law, it talks about how the law should be used to protect the rights of life, liberty, and property. It mentioned the avoidance of socialism. While in the pilgrim's case, there was a large push for socialism and how it can benefit the whole community. They did not believe in property rights due to socialist ideals. They are both closely related due to the basic argument of what is the correct style of governing. I feel that in many cases throughout history, the idea of communities like the pilgrims has failed with time. In the beginning, the idea sounded promising, but once implemented, there were many areas of frustration and concern.
