A steel bar of 10 mm X 40 mm cross section is sandwiched between two aluminium bars of the same cross sectional dimensions for two thirds of its length, and is restrained at the two ends as shown in Figure 12. All three bars are connected by a pin of 8 mm diameter at one end of the aluminium bars, and clamped at the other end. - the maximum shear stress in the pin
