A study was conducted in an Information Sciences course. During the first half of the course, students participated in the course as normal. This period was labeled "C1." During the second half of the course, students also spent time teaching what they were learning to small groups of high school students. This period was labeled as "C2." Separate grades were awarded to students during C1 and C2. The hypothesis of the study was that students would score significantly better in the course, when students were required to teach the material they were learning, than when they engaged in the course normally.
