A submerged pump located $75$ cm below the surface of a reservoir that is open to the atmosphere is to be

connected to plastic pipe with the same dimensions as Schedule $40$ steel pipe. Since the pump is submerged in

the reservoir it does not require any suction line pipe other than to connect a strainer with an L$($e$)/($D$)=75.$ The

system is required to pump a minimum of $80($m$^(3))/()$ hour to a discharge at atmospheric pressure that is $5$ m away
