A warehouse has 20 bays (dimensions 25ft.25ft. each) available for storage as shown in
the figure below. Four different types of products (A, B, C, and D) are to be stored. Each
type of product cannot share a bay with any other type of product. Products are received
from Dock 1 and are shipped out in equal proportion from Docks 2 and 3. The area
requirement and weekly load rate for each of these four products are shown in the table
below. Determine the layout that will minimize the average distance traveled per week.
