Samsung is a global tech conglomerate whose corporate mission and vision statements align with the innovation of technology and improvement for society. The company always stood for excellence and leadership in the various industries they compete in, such as semiconductors, appliances, and consumer technology. For our research paper, we hope to identify Samsungs' ability to compete in the technology sector primarily focusing on the need for an effective strategy for the organization. We will also look to compare the linkages between their vision and mission statements along with the stakeholders involved and their overall strategy for their industry. To help us with the research and gain a better understanding of the competitiveness of their industry and the former mentioned research points, we will also utilize the analysis of the external environment as well as using the SWOT and PESTLE formats in order to identify elements of their strategy and competitive landscape thereafter, the significance of their vision and mission statements will be tested against our findings in order to satisfy our research topic of finding the need for effective strategies in organizations and appreciating the linkages between vision, mission, stakeholders, and strategy.
Introduction
Stakeholders can learn a great deal about a firm by studying its vision and mission. In fact, the key purpose of vision and mission statements is to inform stakeholders of what the firm is, what it seeks to accomplish, and who it seeks to serve. Therefore, we will consider ourselves stakeholders for the purpose of this research study, in an effort to thoroughly examine Samsung's vision and mission. Samsung's vision statement articulates an ideal description of the organization and gives shape to its intended future. This vision is the foundation for the firm's mission. Samsung's mission has successfully identified the businesses in which the firm competes and the customers it intends to serve. Therefore, for the purpose of this research study, we intend to investigate the development of the vision and mission statements, in relation to the findings of the firm's external analysis. We will explore how Samsung's vision and mission have provided the foundation the firm needed in order to choose and implement select business-level strategies. Finally, we will discuss and identify the 'Who', 'What' and 'How' of Samsung's approach in an effort to understand how Samsung's vision and mission have helped to develop their business-level strategies. This will include an evaluation of market segmentation, customer needs, and Samsung's use of resources, capabilities, and core competencies within their operations strategy.

In this research study we seek to thoroughly analyze Samsung's vision and mission in relation to the findings of the firm's external analysis. We seek to review the need for an effective strategy in the organization and understand the linkages between the external environment, vision, mission, stakeholders, and strategy. Therefore, the objective of this research study is to present our findings in a comprehensive formal project report, no later than Friday, July 30th, 2021. The project report will contain a literature review and the establishment of the research methodology. It will also consist of comprehensive data collection and analysis, our research findings, recommendations, and a credible bibliography.
