Academic Serviced Limited ($($ASL)$)$ have been contracted by the smart University ($($sUniversity)$)$ to develop an intelligent Learning Management System ($($iLMS)$)$ to manage the provision of a processbased approach to their online students$$ personal learning patterns. The iLMS will have to perform periodic learning analytics with insights into improving learning provisioning by the sUniversity to

individual students, and their delivered modular learning units. In addition, the iLMS will have to be interoperable with the sUniversity information systems such as the student information and library systems.

ASL have been requested to follow an agile−$-$based approach to the development of the iLMS. However, for the last decade ASL have been undertaking software development projects using plandriven approaches, for the provision of academic software development solutions.

Identify and discuss key arguments that the ASL$$s contracts manager may have in favour of following a plandriven approach rather than proceeding with an agile−$-$driven approach, as requested by the sUniversity
