3. The Assignment

1. Under the Master Glossary look for the definition of Projected Benefit Obligation. Also, find the definition under Glossary within the Pension Accounting Topic. Cut and Paste both definitions. Should there be an inconsistency in these definitions which definition should you use.
2. Find the Area and Topic under which the accounting for Defined Benefit Plans is discussed. State Area and Topic number (e.g., Areas in the codification are Assets, Expenses etc,.)
3. Where is the reconciliation of Beginning PBO to ending PBO found in the codification (give topic, subtopic, section, paragraph)
4. Use the Join function. Join subtopics 20 and 30 under section 50 under Topic 715. Explain what the Join function does and why it is useful.
5. Use the cross reference function. Where is FAS 87 para 10 found in the codification. Provide section, subsection, topic and paragraph.
