Accurately scoping a project will have a large impact on whether or not you and your project team get out to a good start or are playing catch up from the beginning. Scoping a project accurately takes time and practice. Be sure to take your time when completing this lab and really think about all the tasks that need to be identified. Purpose: The purpose of this activity is for you to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the design, development, and implementation of a company's e-commerce web site. Objectives: After completing this exercise, you should have demonstrated your ability to: Enter project properties .Enter project tasks Organize project tasks into phases Setup people, equipment, and materials as resources Assignment: This lab is designed for you to demonstrate your ability to break a project down into manageable tasks, to initially setup a Microsoft Project file for a project, and to utilize Microsoft Project's resource capabilities to store project resources. Directions: To accomplish this lab, you are to develop a WBS which displays the tasks required to design, develop and implement a corpora e-commerce web site. More specifically, you are required to: 1. Setup your Microsoft Project file by: a. Entering a project title of Commerce WBS" b. Populate the company name property with your name c. Set the project start date as the due date of this assignment d. Set any holidays or vacation days as nonworking days e. Make sure weekends are set as nonworking days 2. Identify all of the phases and tasks required to design, develop, and implement an eCommerce system. Your tasks need be logically organized and go at least three levels deep. Example: a. Project Phase Task(s) 1. Sub Task(s) 1. Use Microsoft project to list and organize all of the tasks required to design, develop and implement an eCommerce system 2. Identify and enter into Microsoft Project at least 5 people, pieces of equipment, and/or materials needed to complete suc a project Once you complete the activity, upload your assignment to the appropriate drop box and name your assignment appropriately according to the naming conventions required by your instructor.
