ACG 4101-- WRITING PROJECT AND PRESENTATION

PROJECT INFORMATION:

You will be using EDGAR (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml) andthe FASB codification system toresearch a company's financial statements and to research a proposed accounting standard for the current or prior year(asset-type transactions only).Youwill be creating financial accounting information andcommenting on the proposal you selected as it applies to the company you selected.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

• Part 1-Find a proposed standard from the current or prior year that is related to this course(asset-type transactions only)in the FASB Codification system.Preparea 2-3 pagesummaryof the FASB proposal highlighting what changed, why, andthe potentialimpacton the financialstatements and disclosures

• Part 2-Find a company's financial statements, using the EDGAR database.Use Excel tocreate an applicable supporting schedule and financial statement(s) that wouldprovide an example of the application of the proposedstandard you selected for the company you selected.Ex. if the standard you found included a differentmethod to calculate inventory you wouldcreate a worksheetusing thatproposed inventory method and then show how that change wouldaffected the financialstatementsof the companyyouselected from EDGAR.
