Activity 2: Develop processes for dispute resolution

This activity requires you to develop processes for dispute resolution for your organisation.

The dispute resolution processes include:

• Dispute resolution policy and procedures
• Dispute resolution process diagram including escalation

You must follow the following guidelines when preparing the dispute resolution processes.

Guidelines for dispute resolution policy and procedures

The dispute resolution policy and procedures must include the following sections:

• Document Header: Header information, also called meta-information, includes the policy title, policy number, revision dates and publication dates
• Purpose: This explains what the policy is about and the reason for having the policy, such as how it promotes compliance with standards or regulations.
• Policy Statements: Describe the overall framework for the policy and its intent.
• Policy and Procedures: Details of the policy and procedures may be included in one document, including:
  • Dispute resolution policy and procedures
  • Escalation policy and procedures
  • Legislations and regulations that must be complied with
• Scope: This describes the individuals, departments, or groups to whom the policy applies. To increase clarity, describe any employees or others to whom it does not apply.
• Responsibilities: To ensure compliance, specify which roles are responsible for creating documents and reviewing documentation and activities.

The policies and procedures must be between 300-500 words.

Guidelines for dispute resolution process diagram

The dispute resolution process diagram must:

• Be in accordance with the Fair work act and regulations.
• Follow escalation hierarchy
• Be prepared using MS-word and should not be more than one page
