Activity 2: For each situation, decide if it is (a) comparing two proportions from the same group or (b) comparing proportions from two groups (i.e. two independent/separate samples).

1.Consider 14oz bags of Original Starburst and FaveRed Starburst candies. Compare the proportion of strawberry (pink) starburst in an original bag to the proportion of strawberry in a FaveRed bag.

2.Consider results from a recent BBC opinion poll about the United Kingdom leaving the European Union (Brexit). Compare the proportion of British adults that supported Brexit and the proportion of British adults that did not.

3.While Trick-or-Treating during Halloween, compare the proportion of trick-or-treaters that are ten years old or under ( 10) to the proportion over ten (>10).
