Activity 2a. Probability

Read the problem carefully and answer the questions that follow.

A box contains green and blue chips. A chip is then drawn from the box. If it is green, you win P100, if blue you win nothing.

Choose between two boxes:

- Box A with 3 blue chips and 2 green chips.

- Box B with 30 blue chips and 20 green chips.

Questions:

1. Which would you prefer?

2. Why did you choose box A/box B?

3. Do you have the same chance of winning in any of the two boxes?

4. What is the probability of getting a green chip in box A?

5. What is the probability of getting a green chip in box B?

6. Compare the probabilities of winning the green chip in both boxes.
