Hoyk and Hersey have identified many different traps in an organization that can lead

to unethical behaviour.

There are Primary Traps such as circumstances or external pressures enticing

abandoning values and ethical beliefs. Gradually unethical behaviour becomes more

rewarding and appealing.

There are Defensive traps which attempt to justify a prior bad decision. This

encourages an increase in unethical behaviour.

Evaluate and explain which five primary traps and which five defensive traps could be

threatening an organisation. Explain how each should be minimised or averted.

Provide an example of each trap to illustrate your opinion.
