Think about this:

In former times both men and women in eastem Europe wore shirts and other garments trimmed with colorful bands of embroidery. On each band a complex geometric pattem was repeated over and over again.

On a separate sheet of grid paper, draw a geometric motif that can be repeated to make a neckband for a man's shirt.

On the same sheet draw this motif again to fit the neckband of a small boy's shirt. Each dimension should be half that of the original design.
