13 Experimental You will be able to perform as many as six different tests on samples provided. As you develop your test charts, it will help if you include the color as well as what the test tells you (for instance, \"Its a carbohydrate"). Test 1: The Molisch Test A positive result for the Molisch Test indicates the sample contains a carbohydrate. The left-nost beaker in the top row contains a solution of glucose. Glucose is an example of a carbohydrate that is also a sugar. Open the Supplies cabinet and bring down 6 test tubes and place them in a row above the top beakers. Next obtain an empty disposable pipette (DP) from the supplies cabinet. Use your mouse to drag the DP to the flask containing the glucose, and lower the DP tip into the solution. You should see a blue outline, indicating that the DP is docked to the solution in the beaker. When you release the mouse button, you will see the DP fill with glucose solution, and then the filled DP will rise up. Then click and drag the filled DP to the leftmost empty TT. If you position the DP overlapping the TT properly (watch for the blue highlight), the DP will dispense a small amount of the glucose solution into the TT when you release the DP You should be able to see that the TT has accepted some solution (the liquid level will be visible in the bottom of the TT).
