After reading and working on the problems in chapter 1.4 of the zybook Linear and Exponential Functions, Time Value of Money, I realized that being aware of quantity changes play a huge role in my daily life. Being aware of the reason why I'm making a choice to do something versus guessing allows me to make a conscious rational and informed decision. Example I have been shopping at Fry's grocery store for years now and it is interesting to see how the points accumulated through purchases can be used for discounts or can be used/ transferred to Fry's fuel discounts at the pump. It really comes in handy in the today's high fuel prices. Also, after reading the material, I realized how my weekly, monthly and yearly gas saving could also be translated into a linear function. I feel intrigued that I can already take what I've just learned and apply it to my real life situations. I'm sure there are several examples and look forward to the conversation with you all.
