After reading Chapter 1 (pages 1 through 39), select one category of disasters and discuss with your classmates the potential causes of this disaster, and include in your discussion some of the short and/or long-term consequences of this disaster

NOTE: Common to Florida are hurricanes and tropical storms, as we have all experienced recently with Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. Hurricanes and tropical storms fall under the category of tropical cyclones. One of the consequences of these hurricanes was flooding (short-term and long-term in some areas of Florida). Another short-term consequence is the loss of power.
