After reading chapter 13 and watching the video on Nathaniel Abraham I believe that I was offered a lot of perspective and explanation to the discussion board question. All around it is an extremely difficult subject to discuss especially when we are talking about children and their actions in the world. I have always been a believer that crime is crime regardless of age but when talking about punishment and sentencing, I do have a different outlook. In my opinion, I think a juvenile being tried as an adult should be solely based off the severity of the crime, or who else was effected by the actions. For example, shoplifting should not be a crime that juveniles are tried as adults but on the other hand, murder is definitely a crime when juveniles should be tried as adults. Petty theft vs. taking someone's life is a huge difference that I believe deserves a completely different punishment, no matter the age of the criminal. For the second question, I believe the age of a juvenile is right where it needs to be, for it is on the cusp of adulthood. Overall, I believe it all depends on the type of crime and severity of the crime
