1. What is an example of a research question/problem that you might explore with the University of Waterloo Fire Research Group? The research question/problem will typically be a few sentences. These resources from the Writing Center for narrowing your topic and developing a research questionmay be helpful through this process.
2. Consider what reading you would do to prepare to address your research question/problem. For this answer, identify three relevant, appropriate sources, and list the three citations using the style guide you are most comfortable with (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
3. What research methods (i.e. data collection and analysis) would you use to address your research question/problem? Describe your methods in approximately a paragraph. Your methods should go beyond your initial readings discussed in question 2.
4. What types of approval considerations would your project have? Identify all stakeholders who might need to be consulted for approval prior to commencing the project.
5. How will you share your findings? Outline your plan for knowledge dissemination by describing the specific deliverables your project would have (a paragraph).

You are encouraged to approach this task from your respective disciplinary perspectives. I am in psychology fo approach it from a psychological perspective. Whatever your field of study, there is a potential relevant project related to fire. For example, if you are a Health Studies major, you might consider the long-term health effects of fire fighter exposure to smoke.
