You will need to do some research on the topic of living wages. In your case study submission, answer the following questions. ISBN-10: 1640552456

1. What is the definition of living wage? Has a living wage policy been put into place in any jurisdiction? If so, what was the impetus for such a policy and what have been the impact of the policy (positive and negative)?

2.What is the impact of a living wage policy on employees in the organization? Does such a policy raise the wages only for people who are currently paid below the living wage level? If so, how is the policy likely to affect internal equity in the organization? Does a living wage policy bump up everyone's wages in the organization?

3. In comparison with other hospitals in the area, Methodist Hospital's pay structure is in the middle. Up until this fiasco, the hospital has been fairly successful in attracting and retaining employees (at least compared to the other healthcare organizations in the area). How might the implementation of a living wage policy affect the recruitment and retention of staff? How might it impact the competition? What do you anticipate will be the overall financial impact upon Methodist Hospital?
